This was my second concept art commission, so I had a small workflow already decided for myself, but there were still a few edges that I needed to work out, I started with making plenty of reference boards to pull from while working. This included a style board, provided, and new

I wasn't too sure where exactly I wanted to go, the original concept was pretty open-ended so I started throwing random things at the wall. The commissioner later expressed an interest in bigger hands so we decided to keep that, so I decided to start the next concept off that

On my third concept, the commissioner really fell in love with it, so we decided to keep building off that. I then provided plenty of color palette options before they settled on the first, which was based off their original design and I created the final ref off of that.

The concept pulled a lot from an old character design I never finished a long time ago.

I had so much fun working with this client to help bring their idea alive and can't wait to work with my next one!
